The brand and campaign were created to build momentum for the Commonwealth Games that came to Birmingham in 2022.

An initial pilot was launched with screens in the city and the social media motion teaser. Then the brand was developed with the B as Bold Birmingham and bright engaging colours which were placed around the city as flags, lamppost banners and D6’s, along with displays in New Street Station. The city is bold, diverse and young.

Using the Be Bold branding, the brief was to create a campaign to promote an upcoming Jobs Fair. I created some concepts influenced by famous first world war poster campaign, with the drawing of the man pointing his finger, saying “We want you” but creating a juxtaposition, turning the visual around, the people pointing to themselves looking surprised.
